The Pyro Surfers is one of the only bands in the Las Vegas area that specializes in 50s Rockabilly music and 60s instrumental Surf, which is also a booming subculture here in Las Vegas. They are a fun representation of the roots of rock and roll which started in the south with Sam Phillips and Sun Records. Influenced by the sounds of greats such as Elvis, Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Jerry Lee Lewis, Wanda Jackson, Dick Dale, Brian Setzer and the Ventures, their show is high energy! The Pyro Surfers have performed at nightclubs and outdoor festivals around Las Vegas.
Their musicians they have decades of experience in not just the rockabilly and surf genres, but also jazz, rock, rhythm and blues, pop, reggae, oldies, vintage Vegas and country. The individual band members have been performing in Las Vegas as well as all over the world. Their recent addition of Brett Rigby as their lead vocalist has allowed them to branch out and add his amazing songbook which not only includes favorites from early Sun Record musicians such as Elvis, Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison, but also the country greats from yesteryear and now. Brett sings Rat Pack era oldies too!
Our lead singer Brett Rigby has been on stages since the age of 12. He studied Performing Arts at the prestigious Circle In The Square in New York City. Brett moved to Los Angeles in January 2010 to pursue his passions in the arts. He has headlined on the Sunset Strip at “House of Blues” and ”The Key Club”. In 2012 Brett relocated to Las Vegas where he currently resides. Brett can be seen performing at various casinos on the Las Vegas Strip every week doing various genres of music. He released his first solo, independent country album and music video in 2014, working with some of the finest Nashville musicians. During the day, Brett teaches at a local performing arts academy for children called, “Broadway Dreamers”. He is an experienced auctioneer and MC as well. His influences are Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Dwight Yoakam, Frank Sinatra & Elvis Presley.
Tony Grassano has been playing guitar since I was 12 years old. He’s been in countless of bands all the way from Taiwan to Canada. Tony has opened for Dick Dale, Link Wray, Coco Montoya and others. He says he, ”Lives and breathes guitar. Pick’n n grin’n before I was sin’n.”
Our drummer Steve Hansel has played with the Coasters, with Breck Wall’s Bottoms Up in Las Vegas and on tour, and most recently on the Las Vegas Strip in Island Heat. Steve is also the owner of XS Entertainment LLC, which provides stage, lights, sound and backline to entertainment and concert events throughout Las Vegas, California, Arizona and Utah. He is a producer of several musical and specialty acts and shows.
Tish L’Heureux is the Pyro Surfers female vocalist. She has a degree in Theatre and Dance from Loyola Marymount University. She was a backup singer and dancer in Legends in Concert, and did lead vocals in several musicals and musical reviews in Las Vegas and on tour. Tish has taught dance and musical theatre in California, Nevada and Colorado. She also holds a Master’s in Intelligence Analysis from the American Military University. She is Steve Hansel’s wife and co-producer with XS Entertainment LLC.
Bernard Buswell has been playing guitar for over 30 years and studied music at UNLV. He has performed various styles of music including Funk, Rock, Jazz, Country, Rockabilly and Surf Rock. Bernard can be heard on several locally released records in Texas and Arizona. He lives in Las Vegas with his wife of 24 years; Tina and their two fur children Gandalf and Ella.
Bronson Garza has been playing the bass guitar and upright bass for over 15 years and is an Alumnus of Berklee College of Music and the Musicians Institute. I’m grateful to say that music has been the main focus and purpose of my life. I have been lucky to travel to over 50 countries because of music and have shared the stage with multiple Grammy award winners including The Roots, Ludacris, and Ozomatli.
