AARON NIGEL SMITH

Aaron Nigel Smith’s “Call to Action” is to get kids and families to sing, move and play together. In 2002, he founded “FUNdamentals of Music and Movement”, an arts program which is now the program of choice at 100 early education centers in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, San Francisco, and Washington DC. His fun, inspired, and lively gets the whole family moving and grooving.

In 2005 Aaron’s debut CD release, “Let’s Pretend” received NAPPA and IPARENTING MEDIA awards. His 2010 album, “Everyone Loves to Dance” was named “Best Children’s CD” and garnered praise in People Magazine. Aaron also won NAPPA and Parents’ Choice Awards. In 2008, he collaborated with Ziggy Marley on “B is for Bob”, a Bob Marley Children’s CD. In 2009, he joined the cast of PBS Kids Emmy Award winning show, “Between the Lions”.

Aaron performs regularly at performing art centers, festivals, libraries, and schools. He also tours with PBS Kids Between the Lions Live and the National Education Association’s Read Across America campaign. His simple mission is to share his love for music and movement with the world.

ROX IN SOX is an exciting summer event celebrating children’s music and literature at The West End Building on August 2, 2014 in Lake Oswego, OR. In 2013, 1848 people from Lake Oswego and surrounding cities attended Rox in Sox. During last year’s event we collected 1003 pairs of socks, 483 books and 69 pairs of shoes for kids who need them.

This unique interactive family festival features performances by some of the country’s leading children’s musicians and authors. There will be plenty of fun activities for kids and families to enjoy together, great food and a chance to win a win a raffle prize!
